Cheap Samsung phones, which are constantly released by the Korean giant, have become the savior of those who want to buy new smartphones but do not have a lot of money. One of the best choices in the recent collection of Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy M21 becomes the device worth buying.

Design of Galaxy M21

Galaxy M21 has a normal form and design with a plastic body material, a water drop screen containing the front camera and a fingerprint sensor located on the back. This is a popular design of last year, and the new trend in mid-range smartphones this year has turned to punch-hole screens.

However, the plus point in this product is the pleasant grip. This is due to the compact width of the device, the strong beveled back at the side and the body thickness is moderate (8.9mm) despite the large capacity battery up to 6,000 mAh. In addition, components such as the display assembly, the chassis and the back are seamlessly connected, not causing the hand when holding.

The screen bezel is also reasonably optimized, the screen / front ratio reaches 84.2%, equivalent to the Galaxy M31. On the sides, the machine has a full range of familiar things including two SIM slots, independent memory card, USB Type C port for 15W fast charging for a large battery, 3.5mm audio jack, power key, volume and single speaker. but the volume is quite loud. Inside the product box, Samsung included a 15W fast charger.

Galaxy M21 currently has 2 color options: black and blue, which is pure color with no gradation effect. The back on both versions is plastic but looks as glossy as glass material. In particular, the blue version lessens fingerprints than the black.

Display of Galaxy M21

Galaxy M21 has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Full-HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio similar to the Galaxy M31. Samsung calls this screen the Infinity U Display, because there is a notch that houses the selfie camera on the screen.

The display quality of the Galaxy M21 can be said to be good, eye-catching and has a wider viewing angle than the IPS LCD screen on smartphones of the same price range. By default, the M21’s display will display in Vivid mode with colors being pushed deeper than reality, deep blacks and high contrast, so they look fresh and vibrant. If you want more realistic colors, you can choose the Natural color mode with the same color reproduction as an IPS LCD monitor.

This screen also has a fairly high brightness, enough for outdoor use at an easy-to-see level. Similar to many previous Samsung devices, if you turn on the automatic brightness sensor, the screen is even brighter when you turn on maximum brightness on the screen brightness adjustment bar.

Galaxy M21 uses a cluster of 3 rear cameras with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 5MP secondary camera to capture depth of images for the function of capturing fonts. The selfie camera is located in the front U-notch with a resolution of 20MP. Samsung does not specify which main 48MP camera of the product uses the sensor of which company. According to AIDA64 software, the 48MP camera of this phone uses Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM2 sensor.

Software of Galaxy M31

In terms of software, the camera application on Samsung devices running One UI 2.0 session is now intuitively designed. The basic modes and settings are both located in the two display screens of the camera application. Only a slightly strange detail is that Samsung hides the HDR feature deeply in the settings. Although this is a feature that Samsung turns on by default, whether or not it activates HDR automatically based on the shooting scene. But such deep hiding will cause users to lose a lot of operations if they want to actively turn off / on HDR during shooting.

Performance and battery life

Galaxy M21 and M31 differ only in cameras, while the factors related to the performance of the two machines are the same: screen resolution, software and similar Exynos 9611 processor. So, the performance experience of the M21 is almost not significantly different from the M31 even though the phone’s RAM is less than 2GB.
